On Saturday I am going to get on my bike and set off for Istanbul. If all goes to plan I will pass through Belgium, Germany, Czech Rupublic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria before reaching Turkey, sleeping under the finest roadside bushes each of these countries has to offer. The journey will cover somewhere between two and three thousand miles and ought to take two or three months.
Here I’ll keep a brief account of that journey. I’m no wordsmith so expect more photography than flowery prose; also expect more anecdotes than tarmac quality analysis and odometer readings. I will try to keep it light for you non-cyclists out there.
