After a week in Istanbul we flew South to Çıralı. Istanbul was an enlightening cultural experience and now I felt I’d earned some sun, sand, rest and recuperation without having to cycle there to earn it.
Çıralı lies near Antalya on the Turqoise Coast, so named for the beautiful colour of its waters. Unlike the other resorts on the coast it is untouched by big development and free of souvenir stands, hawkers on the beach or loud bars. A 3km long beach is backed by dramatic mountains.
Boat trips, turtle hatchlings, copious ancient Lycian ruins and the eternal flames of Chimera springing from the rock.
My plan was to fly home after Çıralı but plans change… stay posted!
